  • The territory is unique including University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University’s campuses, over 135 Golf Courses and has both an Urban and Rural mix of customers.  Some communities surrounding already densely populated cities and lake communities are rapidly growing and others are changing with the economic conditions in Michigan.

    •Washtenaw County is located in southeast Michigan, covering an area of 720 square miles.
    •Its 27 cities, villages and townshipsare home to about 325,000 citizens in urban, suburban, and rural settings.  This mix of different settings provides many opportunities for education, recreation, business, agricultural, and home life.
    •The two largest cities are Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, home to two large universities – the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with close to 40,000 students per year and Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, with 22,000 students per year.
    •Ann Arbor is our crown jewel and where the Wanty family has lived for five generation.     •Livingston County represents a more rural community for O&W with a Brighton being the biggest city with a centralized downtown area.  Howell and Whitmore Lake are also larger communities.
    •This is the fastest growing area in the selling territory.  It is a very recreational community scattered with lakes, a ski mountain, 15 golf courses, and is a large hunting area. Biking trails and Breezeways line Livingston county and provide a gateway between popular bars and designations.

    Population forecasts: SEMCOG forecasts projects that the Livingston County population will grow by a total of 125,601 persons between 2000 and 2030 (a change of 80%).

      •Wayne County is located in southeastern Michigan, encompassing approximately 623 square miles. It is made up of 34 cities, including the city of Detroit, however O&W only services the western portion of the county with a population of 574,209 and includes the cities of Northville, Plymouth, Westland, Livonia, Dearborn Height, Redford, Canton, Wayne and Romulus.
      •Northville and Plymouth both have a centralized downtown area with shops, restaurants and entertainments.
      •Hines Park is a 15 mile long park system running through western Wayne County. This park acts as a hub that ties  cities in this area together. There is  a 15 mile long paved bike trail, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, picnic areas and a portable screen for Drive-In movies on Friday nights. Many events through the year including a helicopter marshmallow drop for Easter, a Christmas light show that attracts several hundred thousand people and many more festivities.
      •Metro Detroit Airport is located on I94 in Western Wayne County. Great effort and detail to customer service is given to the airport as it represents a sampling opportunity for over 30,000,000 people that travel through each year.

    •Monroe County, Michigan is Michigan’s southeastern most County, and is Michigan’s only port on Lake Erie. It is situated directly between Detroit to the north and Toledo, Ohio to the south, with proximity to other cities like Ann Arbor, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario. Its estimated population in January 2009 was 153,817.
    •Monroe County is characterized by urban and industrial development along its eastern shoreline, and agriculture in its western sector. It has two coal-fired power plants, and one nuclear power plant. The lakeshore offers many fishing and boating opportunities, and harbors North America’s only International Wildlife Refuge.
    •This is a very close-knit community and fortunately we have a father and son selling team, and several salesmen that are from this area. They have great relationships in Monroe county!

  • Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale counties, located in central Michigan along the Ohio border, make up our newest – most Western territory. This is a beautiful rolling landscape filled with farms and small towns. Also, a retreat destination to many people in Metro Detroit are the Irish Hills, a lake community full of summer recreation.

    •Our new O&W selling team is a blend of Salesmen that came from Silverfoam lead by Dave Keeder who has been leading sales teams in this area for over 20 years. This group of salesmen make this community their home and have been selling beer here each over 10 years.  They have the area and the relationships dialed in and bring a lot to the table.
    •Support systems added to this region are: one Chain Rep, a Draft Tech/Special Events person and Reset person.
  • Michigan International Speedway is the destination jewel of Jackson County. This venue not only attracts 500,000 people twice a summer that camp and watch Nascar races on site, but brings a flood of  Nascar teams, corporate sponsors, media beer drinkers through the area that buy all of their supplies close to the track. A great beer venue!
